CoV19: ACCIDENT OR CONSPIRACY?

Conspiracy theory. It has a certain negative connotation to it doesn’t it? If you hear that you think about paranoid people. Perhaps you picture some inbred, low education idiot that believes anything and everything he hears as long what he hears somehow resonates within him/her even if the information seems to be the most illogical thing you have ever heard.

But why is that? A conspiracy theory is exactly what it says. A theory about a conspiracy. It shouldn’t have the negative connotations that it does. Scientists have theories about things all the time. At times about subjects with massive ramifications if people were to believe them. Take climate change for instance.

Had you told me 10 years ago that the CIA had a government program named Project MKUltra in which American citizens (mental patients, prisoners, sex workers, basically “people who could not fight back”) were experimented on for “mind control” drugs such as LSD; I would have told that it is a ridiculous conspiracy theory.

Had you told me that the Bush administration lied the US into a war that would last 10+ years, I would have told you that was a crazy conspiracy theory.

However, both those examples about appear to be true. The CIA did experiment on US citizens in order to see if they could develop a way to get confessions out of people. As for the Iraq invasion, some might call it a conspiracy theory still, but till this day the US government has failed to prove that there were any WMDs which was the excuse used to invade the country in the first place. This “lie” which led to the destabilisation of the whole region, and likely what allowed the ISIS to come to be and take root.

When there is money or power to be gained, a conspiracy theory should not be easily dismissed. After all these are the two big motivators for most bad actors on the planet.

The COVID out break is a tragic event, causing many people to lose their lively hoods, loved ones, and generally has a massive negative impact on mental health. Regardless of this there is money and power to be made by such an event, and don’t doubt for a second that you don’t have people and corporation out there actively thinking up ways to profit from it. If you can consider that, it can easily be considered that there is a the possibility that someone, or a group of someones came up with the COVID outbreak in order to make money off of it, or to gain power and influence due to it. As crazy as it might seem. Power, and money are great motivators.

Natural or Man-Made? This is the first question that many will ask. Early on a group of geneticists studied the make up of the virus. This is what they basically found. The virus occurred naturally. Their reasoning behind this conclusion seems sound. If you wanted to make a virus that infects people, you would start off by using a virus that can infect people as a starting point. As brilliant as people we are, building a virus from scratch isn’t exactly in our tool box. Quite recently the US intelligent community, tasked by the Trump WH to investigate if the virus came out of a Wuhan lab, concluded that the virus was not designed by man. So, lets just accept for now that it was a virus created by nature.

Even so, it does not mean that the pandemic was a naturally occurring phenomena. So lets explore the various possibilities.

A complete accident, pure and simple

This is absolutely possible. It could have all gone down exactly as Chinese government claims. The virus jumped over from an animal host (most likely a bat) at a Wuhan wet market. Wet markets are not exactly sanitary. Venders handled wild (including endangered) animals, definitely not following minimal health codes, and customers would often even eat these animals raw. So it is entirely possible.

Criminally negligent

In 2003 the Wuhan Institute of Virology (WIV) was the cause of the leak of the SARS viral outbreak. The virus had a researcher that “introduced” the virus to the world. In fact apparently two researchers were infected by the virus. You can read all about it here.

An accidental virus leak happened before, so it is plausible that they didn’t learn from their mistake and it happened again this time around, right? So far the Chinese government is preventing outside organisations such as the US intelligence community and the WHO to investigate this possibility. To make matters worse, the WIV has the highest safety certification for a virology lab in the world. Up to grade 4 or something like that. The lab studying coronaviruses is done on a level 2 safety level conditions.

Again, from their experience with SARS one might have thought they would be more careful this time around. After all countries like Taiwan developed their pandemic response protocols based on their experience with SARS outbreak. Look how well they are doing. If it turns out that things went down like this then who’s responsible should be held to account, period.

Conspiracy

When I try to think about this particular topic, at first I thought I could write a detailed explanation as to why this can be true. However, the shear number of combinations and possibilities in hindsight seem to be quite large. So what would be the point in writing out a detailed story. Instead I will keep things light.

Chinese global influence drive:

It is not a secrete that China has been expanding its global influence, using their position as the second largest economy to make this happen. They lend money to countries, placing them in debt to the Chinese. The Chinese Belt and Road Initiative in is part designed to do this. Asia countries, African countries, and well just follow the link or have a look at the map to get an idea of how far China’s reach is.

With the virus successfully contained (supposedly) in China, and western markets faltering due to lock downs it seems like the perfect time for the Chinese government to buy up companies and technologies on the cheap. There have been warnings put out to governments over the likely hood of this. It makes complete sense since the Chinese and Chinese state owned companies have been doing exactly this for years.

Who is to say that this whole pandemic was not orchestrated to do just this. A respiratory flu like disease, deadlier and more contagious than the flu, but not as devastating and scary as ebola, which would lead to a global shut down. China’s authoritarian regime has an iron fist control over their country. The lock down of millions of people, complete surveillance and the ability to shut down everything and anyone within its boarders to prevent information getting out. They have the tools to orchestrate such a thing.

Pharmaceutical corporations:

There is the potential of making a lot of money. pharmaceutical. Billions of dollars are being funnelled into pharmaceutical companies to develop a vaccine for this pandemic. Even if a lab is not able to develop a vaccine and reap the cash from its sales, the funding they receive for R&D goes a long way. It allows them to gain general knowledge, no methods, buy equipment, develop new processes and lots more. Either way they benefit from this.

It might even be possible that it is about the image of vaccination. It might be a good “I told you they work” moment would it not? We have seen this sort of reasoning in the movies all the time. A patriot sets out orchestrating a nuclear attack on the United States of America. Of course the purpose is to show the government and the people that it is ill prepared for such attacks.

The COVID 19 pandemic might be the moment in which pharmaceuticals end up being the heroes of the story.

The patriot:

I already alluded to this it in the previous section. Except that for this it doesn’t have it be a pharmaceutical. Perhaps Bill Gates had a hand in it. Perhaps former President Obama had a hand in it. There have been people warning us for a while now that this sort of thing is possible. We all know that the swine flu, and ebola out breaks scared the Obama administration into taking steps to getting the level of preparedness of the country up to par. Bill Gates on the other hand had a Ted Talk and used multiple occasions to try and justify billions if not trillions in investments for a future respiratory pandemic. It would not surprise us if some people or groups might have acted in the belief that their actions will protect the country and the world from a far worse event in the future.

Various corporate incentives:

We can see first hand how the markets have been hit by the lock downs that have been globally imposed. We know by now that there were people shorting the market expecting the housing market bubble to burst and they made billions out of it. Betting against something can be quite lucrative if you actually win, simply because too many it seems like the chances are so low. Some people I am certain made a ton of money due to the coronavirus. It just takes a nudge to move things in a certain direction does it not? Due to stay at home orders and the resulting working from home situation there have been number of companies who have seen their values go up by a lot.

The US did it:

If you can think up of how money and power can be gained by the coronavirus outbreak, it can be reasoned out that someone might have triggered it. Even China’s wild accusation that the US is to blame can be true, though I think unlikely. The US has seen the rise of China on the global stage as a threat. Releasing such a virus in China, in Wuhan of all places, and then make them the scapegoat would be quite a way to make China a global pariah . The results however, don’t see to reflect this theory though. The US is not acting like it was prepared for it, and the economic fall out. Wow, no way.

Others:
  • Activists triggered this in the hopes of taking down the oil industry by tanking demand for fossil fuels
  • The deep state triggered this to spin things and take out President Trump
  • Republicans triggered this to paint democrats in a bad light and/or to push their conservative agenda
  • Democrats triggered this to paint republicans in a bad light, and/or to push their social agenda
  • etc etc

Besides money and power is there any other motivations as to why someone would want a pandemic outbreak? Oh I just thought of another. Climate change. A pandemic leading to a lock down would cause a massive decrease in emissions, as we have seen. Perhaps if emissions are kept low for long enough, maybe it can be shown to the world that climate change is in fact driven by man? The speculations of scientists such as Fauci conspiring with Chinese scientists would make more sense. A international scientific community conspiracy. After all scientists have been shouting as much as they can and even employing fear tactics to get us to listen and believe that climate change is real. Maybe they took their rhetoric to the next level?

What triggered this post was my wife. She was watching one of those talk shows in which the host and doctor being interviewed expressed that Fauci should be fired. She asked me why. “Why would anyone want to cause a pandemic, why would Fauci be involved, what could he gain?” It got me thinking but as you can see, to me the motivation is usually greed. Power, and money rule the world.
