What is COVID 19 supposdly?

According to wikipedia “Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) is an infectious disease caused by severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2).”

Lets go over that again. The “coronavirus disease 2019”, or COVID 19 for short, is caused by the “severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)”. And if you click on the link for the SARS-CoV-2 link you get the following wikipedia description:

Severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2)[2][3] is the virus strain that causes coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19), a respiratory illness.

So when someone sets out to look up what the coronavirus pandemic is. I point this out because every single article I read in the media they spit this explanation out. I would have thought that the scientific community would be talking about SARS-CoV-2, the virus, not just COVID 19, because they are not one and the same apparently. SARS-CoV-2 is the virus that gets spread, it is what you contract not COVID 19. For example when they talk about children being infected they are generally talking about SARS-CoV-2, not COVID 19. After all the majority of children do not have a respirotory issue when infected with the virus. COVID 19 is ONLY the respiratory desease.

So why do I bring this up specifically? In the first post opening up this website I stated that the information about this pandemic are all over the place. The information put out does not seem to be a coordinated campaign, just like the global response to this thing. Everyone seems to think about this as a respiratory decease. But if you read articles that do not only cover respiratory cases we find that this virus can and does affect the body in ways that are not respiratory related. There are stories and warnings about neurological issues, persistent even after recovery. Those reports about loss of sense of smell and taste? That is an example of neurological issues. Then you have the reports about young people experiencing strokes. That isn’t respiratory or neurological. Apparently the virus can attack the blood vessles causing clots which can lead to strokes. Young some children show “kawasaki’s disease” like symptoms, and some stomach pains and diarrhea. This is essentially also the attacking of the blood vessels, and organs. In fact there is some speculation that SARS-CoV-2 is possibly like HIV in that it attacks the body’s immune system.

So this virus that has caused a global shut down has been compared to the flu over and over again. In fact several politicians who have downplayed the virus call it a simple flu. Some doctors call it a simple flu even. And of course the “experts” refer to it as a respiratory disease.

But if the reports are correct it isn’t COVID 19 that we should be worried about, but the SARS-CoV-2 virus in general. Focusing solely on the respiratory part seems to mask the fact that we don’t actually know all that much about the disease. And it downplays it making people think that it is a simple flu. If it is not, and it affects other parts of our bodies, then should we not all be worried about the long term implications??

Or if after almost 6 months the world still doesn’t know or understand what this thing is… is it even a thing at all? Or some scatter shot approach to getting us to fear something we don’t know?
